Healthy eating is a way of balancing the food you

eat to keep your body in great health.  With healthy

1.  Don’t skip any meals

Eating 3 meals with snacks in between is the ideal

way to maintain both energy and a healthy weight.

When you skip meals and get hungry, you’re more

than likely to choose foods that aren’t very good

you or know where you can buy healthy food from.

 

2.  Learn about how to prepare foods

Instead of deep frying, try grilling, stir frying,

microwaving, baking, and even boiling.  You should

also try fresh or even dried herbs and spices to

add flavor to your food.  Before you eat any type

of meat, be sure to trim the fat and skin off of

it.

 

3.  Avoid a lot of sugar

Drinks that contain sugar are a major source of

empty energy.  What this means, is that the drinks

contain a lot of energy that your body may not

need, and it doesn’t contain any vitamins or

minerals.  If you plan to drink sugary drinks,

don’t go overboard - limit yourself to 1 a day.

 

4.  Avoid thinking about diets

There are no good food nor any bad foods.  All

food can be a part of a healthy diet, when eaten

in moderation.  You don’t need to buy any low

carb, fat free, or even diet foods, as these foods

normally have lots of other added ingredients

to replaces the carbohydrates or fat.

Foods That Are Low In Cholesterol

There is a saying that goes. “We are what we eat.” This is so true as the food being consumed may affect the cholesterol levels inside the person’s system. This makes this makes the person prone to high blood pressure or heart disease through age, which could leave the patient, paralyzed or dead.

 

The only thing to do before it is too late is to make some changes in the individual’s diet. While many of the good stuff that people love to eat have high concentrations of LDL better known as bad cholesterol, this can all change by consuming those that have HDL or good cholesterol. Here are a few examples.

 

A good way to start a healthy diet is to have a breakfast. Instead of eating bread, the individual can consume oatmeal instead. Studies have shown this can lower the cholesterol in the body by more than 20% after just two weeks of use. This figure can go down some more if this becomes a habit before going to work.

 

It is tough to just have oatmeal in the morning. Sometimes, the individual can have a fruit. An example could be an apple.

 

Studies have shown that people who eat at least 2 full apples a day or drink 12 ounces of apple juice are able to reduce the chances of heart diseases by 50%. This can be purchased at the supermarket and eaten during anytime of the day such as dessert after a light meal or as a snack.

 

During lunch or dinner, the person must have some vegetables in the meal. Those who order can have fish or poultry instead of eating red meat. Such dishes are not high in saturated fats, which are healthier.

 

Those who love to cook at home can try mixing some healthy things ingredients in the meal. One example is garlic that has natural properties that can declog the arteries and again lower the odds of succumbing to heart disease.

 

Having a can of pork and beans is also good for the diet. This is because it contains soluble fibers that can combat the bad cholesterol in the person’s body. There are not that many people who will do this but those who are able to eat even a half an onion daily will be able to increase the HDL and lower the LDL.

 

People are often told that fats are not good for the diet. This isn’t entirely true because this comes in many forms. There are fats that are healthy such as unsaturated ones and omega 3 fatty acids.

 

Monosaturated and Polysaturated ones are also effective since these are usually found in cooking oils. This means food preparation also plays a big factor in reducing lowering one’s cholesterol levels.

 

The individual should read the label at the supermarket and read the ingredients to find out if this is healthy for cooking.

 

Being a bit overweight or noticing a lot of bulges in the body is one way of knowing that the person is potentially at risk for succumbing to disease to high levels of cholesterol in the system.

Foods That Can Cause Migraine To Be Triggered

No one knows for sure what causes migraine headaches.  The most likely to answer to-date is that a serious of small irritations or reactions pile up until, finally, a migraine headache is triggered.  Migraine triggers are different for each individual, but many migraineurs claim that a particular food or combination of foods will push them over the edge into a headache.

 

Keep in mind that most science disagrees with migraineurs when it comes to food triggers.  There are no conclusive studies indicating a link between certain foods and migraine headaches, so all information is anecdotal.  The thing is there is a lot, tons in fact, of anecdotal evidence for the link.

 

While a migraine trigger food can be, quite literally, anything, some foods come up on the trigger list for enough people to merit discussion.

 

Cheese

 

Cheese is a major trigger for many migraineurs.  Particularly likely to cause an attack are hard or aged cheeses.  Soft cheeses like cream cheese and new cheeses seem to be fine and unlikely to cause problems.

 

Processed Meats

 

Nitrates are believed by many to be a major migraine trigger.  For most people, the most common source of nitrates is processed meat, items like hot dogs, sausage, bacon, processed lunchmeats, etc.

 

Condiments

 

Salad dressings are a trigger for many.  The reason is not known, but is probably tied to a combination of other triggers all coming together in one place.

 

Spices and Additives

 

Any spice can be a trigger.  Spices as triggers may be tied, at least partially, to scent sensitivity, since many spices have a pungent odor. Seasonings that seem to give migraineurs the most trouble include monosodium glutamate (MSG), common in Asian foods, artificial sweeteners, food dyes, and vinegar.

 

Migraineurs who suspect a food trigger should consider trying an elimination diet to pinpoint the trigger food(s).

There are many people who love to cook and many who are learning to cook. People have now realised to live a healthy life they cannot depend on takeaways. Many people learn to cook because they are moving away from home to live in the University and many learn from the young age knowing the fact that they won’t be able to eat their mother’s cooking all their life. Many read cooking books to understand how to start cooking and it is a good idea to start.

 

You can buy cheap books on cooking through many websites and local stores. You will be able to find websites and stores which provide books for as little as £1 so you won’t be spending a fortune on it. People who have no idea on how to cook, reading cook book is certainly a way forward for them. Another good way of learning would be to watch someone who knows how to cook. The techniques they use while cooking will give you an idea of how to start cooking.

 

Cooking the food might seem easy but the hardest is not the cooking, the hardest part is preparing the food. Every cooking book you read will have a short desription on how to prepare the food before you get to the nitty gritty of cooking. Many have said that preparing the food and vegetables for cooking is what takes a lot of time. If you get the basic knowledge of preparing the food then cooking shouldn’t be a problem for you. As I mentioned earlier being a shadow or watching someone cook is a great way of understanding cooking.

 

Before I moved to University I shadowed my mother for few months. I learnt her techniques to prepare the food and to cook the food. You obviously have to practice what you learnt and so I did, I prepared few meals for my family before I head out to University. I never used to read before now because of the cook books I also read non fiction books.
